Reliable operation with gloves and water

We employ know-how from VFD production to achieve Sensitive and Stable touch operation. Operators can wear vaious gloves, and the touch panel can work through a glass front covering.

"Mutual capacitive" models can be made even more robust against water drops or even streams by appropriate fail-safe programming at the host controller.

A glass substrate is implemented and results in excellent glass appearance and durability.
The glass also has chemical resistance and is easy to clean.

The on-board touch sensor controller makes the module easy to control. It's possible to send messages to the host when touch switches are operated.
The "Program Macro" processor is also able to read the touch switches.

The GU-D series has a Program Micro Processor. Touch operations, I/O ports and the serial port can be read in to control the display's message. The program macro function allows for stand alone operation of the display module.

A sequence of commands are stored in the display and repeatedly executed. For example, if a set of commands to move the cursor and display a message are stored in the display, then sending the "start macro" command will make the display repeat the message.
Automatic program start at power-on can also be set. This may be used during display initialization, the idle screen or a demonstration screen.

11 regions are covered in the alpha numeric, Katakana and western fonts. Two byte CJK fonts are also included.

Images such as icons can be stored in flash memory (FROM). Stored images can be displayed on screen by commands which reduce the load for the host controller. A maximum of 16 character fonts can be stored in RAM and FROM.

The VFD's structure is more stable than an LCD and its operational temperature range is very wide.

In order to manipulate multiple pieces of information on one screen, the user window functionality divides the screen into separate windows and allows the user to control the information easily and independently. The display consists of four user windows and one base window that is the same size as the display. Each user window has its own home position and the character scroll function is performed within the selected window.
